“Help! I can’t verify my phone number and use InstaSnap!”
There are usually only two reasons why the app wouldn’t be able to get the code:
- There is no ‘credit’ on your phone. Since InstaSnap uses your cellular service to send the initial text (and that’s it) for verification, you must have enough credit for this to work. The easiest way to test this is to send yourself a message with the Android messaging app. If you get it back, then you’re good to go. If you don’t have a plan that allows for text messaging, then unfortunately you won’t be able to use InstaSnap.
- You have a third-party app installed to send and receive your text messages, some examples are TextSecure or Handcent. If you are using one like this, then our verification text will be in there and not your regular Android messaging app. So take a look in there and see if it’s there, then enter the code in InstaSnap.
